SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Notre Dame class of 2024 is celebrating their commencement today.
Lots of graduating seniors are looking forward to their futures and careers.
Thousands came in from around the world for the 179th commencement ceremony for the Notre Dame class of 2024.
A sea of caps and gowns with students ready to start the next chapter of their life.
The salutatorian, born in Damascus, Syria and raised in Indiana, Shakar Mohammad Erbini reflecting on his past four years at Notre Dame.
‘And the moments in which we endured the loss of several classmates to unexpected accidents, and the loss of loved ones to the pandemic, your mercy made it possible to spend our freshman year here on campus when so many universities could not afford to do the same," said Erbini.
University President Reverend Father Jenkins, serving as the main commencement speaker calling for togetherness as graduates embark on their future endeavors.
Coming from across the pond, The Lost Kings, an Irish folk group performed as graduates celebrated their past four years of hard work.
