Notre Dame hosts first-ever Irish Jam on Eddy Street
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame men's and women's basketball brought the community together in a big way with the debut of Irish Jam, a free event sponsored by Under Armour and held right in the heart of Eddy Street.
From noon to four, fans packed the street to enjoy mini tournaments, games, prizes, and live entertainment. Then, in the evening, head coaches Micah Shrewsberry and Niele Ivey introduced their men’s and women’s teams to the crowd.
The highlight of the night was a little friendly competition. Two fan-voted captains drafted co-ed squads for a 3-point shootout, skills challenge, and shooting stars contest. Emcees from both teams kept the energy high, while a live DJ and local fan activations added to the festival atmosphere.
To top it off, Notre Dame also unveiled exclusive new Irish basketball merchandise — available to purchase at the event. With a standing-room-only crowd, fans got a taste of what could become a new annual tradition in South Bend.
