WAKE FOREST, N.C. – Notre Dame Irish traveled to North Carolina on Saturday to play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

First quarter

The Irish’s Tony Jones Jr. made moves and had a 14-yard gain in the first four minutes of the quarter.

Wake Forest attempted a 38-yard field goal which is not good and the ball went back to Notre Dame.

Notre Dame’s defense then allowed one- yard in the red zone, and Wake Forest’s field goal was good.

The score was 0 – 3, in favor of Wake Forest.

Jafar Armstrong ripped off a 30-yard touchdown for the Irish.

The score was 7 – 3, Irish.

Second quarter

Nick Sciba from Wake Forest attempted a 39-yard field goal which was good.

The score was then 7 - 6, Notre Dame.

Notre Dame went for it on 4th-and-short and Ian Book completed a 3-yard touchdown pass.

14 - 6, Fighting Irish.

A 52-yard punt return for Notre Dame set up a 4-yard touchdown run for Jones.

Irish pushed their lead to 21.

Matt Colburn hit it in from two yards out and Wake Forest scored a touchdown.

21-13, Notre Dame.

A 66-yard completion to Michael Young Jr. set up a 2-yard touchdown run.

Irish gained another 7 points, 28-13.

A Wake Forest field goal attempt hit the uprights and the score stayed 28 - 13 at halftime.

Third quarter

Notre Dame had a 74-yard drive into the end zone.

The score was 35 – 13, Irish.

Armstrong scored his second touchdown of the day pushing Notre Dame up another 7 points.

Ian Book took the QB keeper to the corner of the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown.

Notore Dame 49 - Wake Forest 13.

Wake Forest scored a rushing touchdown to shorten Notre Dame’s lead.

The score was 49 - 20 at the end of the third quarter.

Fourth quarter

The fifth touchdown of the day by Ian Book increased Notre Dame’s lead once again.

Notre Dame 56 - Wake Forest 20.

Wake Forest scored on a rushing touchdown to make the score 56-27.

Notre Dame remained undefeated in their first away game.

The Irish will be up against Stanford on Saturday Sept. 29th.
