Obama tours Arlington National Cemetery

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Veterans are being remembered in Michiana and all across the country this Memorial Day.

President Barack Obama did his part by touring Arlington National Cemetery.

There he had some great news for everyone, especially soldiers overseas.

"Today, a transition is underway in Afghanistan and our troops are coming home," said Obama. "And this time next year, we will mark the final Memorial Day of our war in Afghanistan."

Every Memorial Day U.S. soldiers place a rose on every single grave at the cemetery.

It is a gesture to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for serving our country.
