BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Officers responded to a shots-fired call at the intersection of Seely Street and Highland Avenue that left one man dead shortly after 12 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.
32-year-old Maurice McKenzie was wounded in the shooting, and later succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Lakeland Spectrum Health, according to responding officers.
The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety does not have any suspects at this time.
Police are seeking information about the incident, and encourage anyone with knowledge of the situation to contact the tip line at 269-927-0293 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP (7867) to provide anonymous information.
