SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Johnny Lujack, who led Notre Dame to three national championships in the 1940s, died at his Florida home Tuesday at the age of 98.
Lujack won the Heisman Trophy in 1947 and led the Irish to championships in 1943, 1946, and 1947.
He is considered one of the greatest players to ever suit up for the Fighting Irish.
After playing for the Irish Lujack was drafted by the Chicago Bears, where he played for four years.
