Outgoing school superintendent gets similar post in Fla.

FLORIDA -- Indiana's outgoing school superintendent is taking a similar position in another state.

Bennett was named Florida's Commissioner of Education on Wednesday.

Bennett lost his bid for another term as the state's chief school official to Glenda Ritz in November's election.

During his time as Indiana School Superintendent, Bennett had brought a number of changes to the state's education programs including to base teachers' pay on performance and the school voucher program.
