MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The legal battle over the now-closed Praxis Landmark Recovery center in Mishawaka has now moved to federal court with a lawsuit filed by dozens of former patients.
In August, ABC57 reported dozens of former patients had joined the lawsuit against the troubled drug rehab facility after three patients died at the Mishawaka location in July.
The lawsuit claims patients sustained "serious and debilitating personal injuries" at the facility.
Autopsy results on those who died ranged from accidental, to chronic alcohol use disorder, and suicide.
Since those incidents, Praxis had its license revoked by the state and was forced to shut down.
