One year later, many still reliving Colon tornado
NAPPANEE, Ind. -- The second annual Pedal Party got underway in Nappanee Saturday morning and ended six-and-a-half miles away in nearby Wakarusa.
The party featured fun, food, games and prizes for the family with an early-morning bike ride that started at The Barns of Nappanee at 8 a.m. Once riders reached Wakarusa, community members from both towns sat down for a communal breakfast before biking back to Nappanee, where an hour-long celebration begins at 10 a.m.
The Pedal Party has been put together with the intention of bringing awareness to the multi-use trail that runs between the two towns.
Both the city of Nappanee's Development Director and City Planner highlighted how the trail continues to connect the already strong bond between the communities and the business-related benefits that are expected to come from the event.
