WARSAW, Ind. -- The Warsaw Police Department reports officers responded to the westbound lanes of US 30 at Old Road 30 for a crash involving a pedestrian Wednesday around 3:10 a.m.

Police say the preliminary investigation indicate 32-year-old McKenzie Callison, of North Manchester, crossed into the path of a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia tractor/trailer driven by 54-year-old Wally Ortiz, of Joliet, Ill.

Callison was struck while on the roadway and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office Fatal Team was requested to assist with the reconstruction.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available currently.
