Pedestrian hit and killed by drunk driver in Watervliet Township

WATERVLEIT, Mich.--A 24-year-old-man from Watervleit is dead this morning after police say he was hit by a drunk driver.

The victim Eric Boyd was hit while walking along Dan Smith Road near John Goff Road in Watervliet Township. Police say the roadway was unlit. Boyd had on dark cloths and he was listening to music.

The 23-year-old driver, Matthew Simkins has been charged with drinking and driving, causing death.
