Pedestrian in serious condition following crash

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A 49-year-old St. Joseph resident is in serious condition following a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in St. Joseph on Friday morning, the St. Joseph Public Safety Department reported.

At 7:47 a.m., Public Safety Officers responded to a crash on Broad Street at Main Street.

A 19-year-old Indiana resident was turning westbound from Main Street onto Broad Street when he struck the 49-year-old as they were crossing the roadway in the crosswalk, reports said.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

This incident is still under investigation.
