State Senator Blake Doriot speaks on why he voted “no“ for...
MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Michiana native and Penn High School Markus Burton announced his commitment to Notre Dame just days after his visit with Head Coach Mike Brey.
Burton emerged into one of the best guards and overall players in the state of Indiana during his junior season with the Penn Kingsmen.
He averaged 27 points per game and set the school record for single-season points with 734.
After an elite summer, Burton received notoriety from major Division 1 schools, but there was one school and one school only, that Burton was waiting for: Notre Dame.
“It felt like home. I love Coach Brey and I love the coaching staff and it’s not too far from my house either it was great. I loved the experience there and I’m looking forward to having a great season there too,” said Burton.
Burton joins Blake Wesley and JR Konieczny as the latest Michiana natives to play collegiate basketball at Notre Dame.
