A pilot and his 9-year-old passenger survived a mid-air collision with another plane in New York.
Kevin D'Angelo managed to crash-land the aircraft into a field.he was about to finish a flight in his home-made aircraft when a Cessna 172 came into contact with his plane.
D'Angelo says he knew he just had to keep flying."I just knew I had to keep flying the plane. As a pilot, you train, trained over and over again to handle situations like this, and you have to keep on flying the plane no matter what's happening," he said.
D'Angelo and his passenger escaped almost unharmed.
The pilot and passenger of the Cessna aircraft that struck D'Angelo were both killed.
The NTSB is investigating the crash.
