Pilot of powered parachute injured in fall

The pilot of a powered parachute was injured after he fell approximately 60 feet Saturday afternoon in Marshall County.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department says Michael Wood was piloting a 2002 Buckeye Dream Machine when he struck the top of some trees in the area of 16166 18B Road.

While stuck in the treetops he became unbuckled and fell 60-feet, deputies said.

Wood was flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of his injuries.

Wood is listed in good condition at the hospital.
