Plymouth police: Man makes false report to gain girlfriend's sympathy

Get a load of this guy!  Police say he faked a kidnapping and assault to gain sympathy from his girlfriend!

21-year-old James Garbison, Jr. is in the Marshall County Jail.

Garbison told officers three people attacked and kidnapped him last Friday, but police say it's all a lie!

On Aug. 9, Plymouth police received a report in the middle of the night that he beat up his girlfriend and destroyed her cell phone.

They say Garbison made up the kidnapping and beating story to get sympathy from her.

He's charged with false informing, domestic battery, and criminal mischief.

His bond is set at $1000.
