Police investigate cause of fire in Bridgman Sunday

The Bridgman Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 9700 block of Maple Street in Bridgman, Michigan Sunday.

The call came in around 11:38 a.m.

There was heavy fire showing from what appeared to be the kitchen windows when the fire department first arrived, Captain Jim Janes says.

Bridgman Firefighters extinguished the main body of fire and followed up with a primary search.

No one was home at the time of the fire but fire officials say three pets died in the fire.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames around 3:00 p.m.

The Bridgman Fire Department was assisted on scene by Lake Township and Lincoln Township Fire Departments.

Bridgman Fire and Michigan State Police are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire at this time.
