Police need your help finding murder suspect

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.  –  South Bend Police are searching for 42-year-old Jason Jackson, of South Bend, who's been charged with the murder of 45-year-old Ikeelee Lottie, also of South Bend, in December of 2022.

Authorities say the murder took in the 700 block of Johnson Street in South Bend.

Probable cause was found on December 28, 2022, and an arrest warrant was issued at that time.

The Prosecutor’s Office filed a motion to seal this case until Jackson was “arrested or otherwise brought within the custody of the Court”. That motion was granted by the Court.

However, the Prosecutor’s Office recently filed a new motion to unseal the case because law enforcement haven't apprehended Jackson and need the public's help locating him.

Jackson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

If anyone has any information, please call 911 or contact the South Bend Police Department Detective Bureau at 574-235-9236.

Lottie was killed around 3 a.m. on the morning of December 18, 2022, near Johnson and Rupel streets.

Witnesses in the area told police that just before the shooting, an argument took place between Ikeelee, Jackson and another man.

Ikeelee reportedly pushed Jackson and punched the other man before Jackson shot him, police said.

Surveillance video in the area confirmed these events took place as witnesses described them.
