Police: Stranger tried to lure children into his vehicle
LA PORTE, Ind. -- La Porte Police are investigating an incident where a man tried to lure three children into his vehicle.
The incident happened Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.
The mother of the children, ages 3, 4 and 12, said they were playing in a neighbor's yard when she saw a man in an older model Honda Pilot pull up near the children.
He then called the children over to his vehicle as he took off his seat belt, the mother told police.
The 12-year-old told her mother the man told them to get into the SUV.
The woman confronted the man, he left and she contacted police.
She said she didn't recognize the man or the vehicle he was driving.
The man was described as a white male of medium build, possibly in his mid-50s. He is balding on top with gray hair on the sides of his head.
