Summer Concert Series brings tunes to Potawatomi Park
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Preparations are underway at the Century Center in downtown South Bend where in less than 24 hours a Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide will be held.
The event is focused on remembering and honoring the more than one million Africans killed in the 100-day civil war in Rwanda.
The commemoration includes a survivor's story and panel discussion.
The keynote speaker is Dr. David Simon, Director of the Genocide Studies Program at Yale University.
Anti- genocide "never again" events are being held worldwide and here at home.
The event is free and open to the public. It's happening from 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday, at the Bendix Theater inside the Century Center.
