NOW: Press Conference and sit in held by uncommitted Delegates outside the Democratic National Convention

CHICAGO -- 30 uncommitted Delegates held a press conference outside The United Center, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Israel, and an end to military aid to Israel.

The group, led by a Michigan Delegate, who called for this press conference after he was told a Palestinian would not be allowed to speak on stage at the DNC.

“I think back to when I was a child in South Lebanon. I was 15 years old, and I had to come to terms with what I thought was going to be certain. I thought that 100% I would be killed using bombs that my own government sent over there because our government policy is to kill people like me," stated uncommitted MIchigan Delegate Abbas Alawieh.

The Delegate, Abbas Alawieh, then sat down on the concrete joined by other uncommitted Delegates across from the Democratic National Convention.

The group claimed that nearly 300 total Delegates support the ceasefire strategy they delivered to the Harris-Walz campaign.

While we have heard from speakers this week, including President Biden, call for a ceasefire before Minnesota Governor Tim Walz took the stage; A Delegate from his state essentially said that means nothing if the U.S. continues to deliver weapons to Israel.

“Our governor is about to say folks' things as the vice-presidential candidate calling people weird and they are. They’re weird for what they believe in horrible Republican things. that’s weird. but you know what, it’s weird to say cease-fire and keep sending the fire. that’s weird Walz," stated uncommitted Michigan Delegate Dan Engelhart.

Since the Oct. 7 attacks, the Palestinian death toll has surpassed 40,000.
