Purdue free eye exams for service dogs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A program at Purdue University is helping service dogs live healthier lives.

Ophthalmologists are giving free eye exams to service dogs.

The dogs are checked for vision problems in order to catch and treat issues early.

Purdue veterinarians say examining service dogs on a regular basis assures they will be able to do their jobs for many years.
