Quarter-sized hail pounds cars, windows in Houston area

HOUSTON — People living in one Texas town woke up to quarter-sized hail Wednesday morning.

Families in a town west of Houston are sweeping up broken glass and shredded window blinds.

Large pellets of hail pierced through their windows, pounded the hoods of cars and broke out tail lights.

Thea area also saw winds up to 60 miles per hour.
