So far this year we have seen 23.03 inches of rainfall, leaving us about half an inch above the normal average. Most of that rain has fallen over the past 2 months. June and July combined equal out to more than half of the rainfall for the year. If it wasn't for all the rain during June then we would likely see widespread severe drought develop.
Here in Michiana, for the month of August, we are in the equal chances category. This means we have equal chances of seeing above or below average totals for the month of August. Models for the first week of August, are coming in dry, so it looks like we will have to try and make up the rest of the rainfall accumulation through the middle and end of the month
