ELKHART, Ind. -- Renovations are underway at the National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart!
The museum has been in operation for over 30 years now.
While a lot has held up over time, these renovations would enhance the museum for everyone from staff, visitors and the city of Elkhart itself.
The museum is making improvements to its Century Flyer amusement-style train, and the tracks outside of the building.
The upgrades are all part of a $30,000 project that will help make your next school or family trip to the museum even more exciting!
Friends of the National New York Central Railroad Museum, a non-profit created to support the museum and its endeavors, plans to host a fundraiser to help with the renovations as well.
'Rockin' the Rails' is August 26th from 12-6p.m at the New York Railroad Museum in Elkhart.
The event features live music, food trucks, games, activities and more for the whole family!
You can find more details about 'Rockin' the Rails' here.
