Retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf dead at 78

TAMPA, Fla. — Retired General Norman Schwarzkopf died at his Tampa home on Thursday. He was 78.

Known as "Stormin' Norman", he gained national attention in the early 90s when he lead Operation Desert Storm which liberated Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion.

He then retired after serving as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Central Command.
