UPDATE: Section of S.R. 15 reopened after two-vehicle crash leaves one dead

UPDATE (8:41p.m.): The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies has released a statement on the two-vehicle head-on crash between a International Box Truck and a Chevy Trail Blazer.

Michael W. Troup, a 57-year-old from Leesburg Indiana driving the Chevy Trail Blazer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in Troup's vehicle, 65-year-old Penny E. Coppes from Milford Indiana, was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Warsaw for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the International Box Truck, 58-year-old Joel Machorro De Leon, did not sustain injury in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County FACT Team.

The road has now been reopened as of 3:30 p.m.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a call at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for a two-vehicle crash on S.R. 15 just south of C.R. 1350 north.

Authorities say the crash left one person dead, one with minor injuries, and one uninjured.

Southbound traffic is being rerouted either east or west and northbound lanes are at a standstill.

Authorities say the road will remain closed for at least another hour if not longer.
