SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced the second and final phase of the Riverside Drive Reconstruction Project will begin on Wednesday.

Officials say the final phase will include reconstructing the intersection at Riverside and Boland Drives.

The intersection will be closed during this phase.

Riverside Drive between Cleveland Road and Boland Drive will remain closed until the project is complete.

Officials expect work to be completed by mid-October, weather permitting.

During this phase, the detour route will be Woodlawn Boulevard and Cleveland Road via Portage Avenue.

Chet Waggoner Little League will remain accessible from the north side of Riverside Drive off Cleveland Road.
