Roseland Police Chief officially resigns

ROSELAND, Ind. - Roseland Police Chief Avery Minor confirmed to ABC57 he resigned from the Roseland Police Department this week.

Minor states he's moving on to other opportunities.

The Roseland Town Council says the process they must go through now is to try to promote someone within the Roseland Police Department.

If they can't, the council will advertise the position and then vote on that candidate.

Minor released the following statement:

"Though I will miss the people of Roseland, I resigned to pursue other opportunities that I have. I was not asked to resign. The town remains safe and is in great hands with the officers that remain and the leadership of the council. I wish them nothing but the best and will assist them during this transition."
