Safety Alert: Back to school means being more alert on the roads

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- With school back in session Wednesday for students in South Bend, police are warning drivers to be aware while behind the wheel.

According to the South Bend Community School Corporation, there are over 14,000 students that take the bus to and from school each day.

In order to keep those kids safe, police are planning to enforce school zone speed limits and school bus stop signs.

The speed limit around most schools in the city is 20 miles per hour during school hours.
