SBCSC Board proposes to change bussing

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One of the big items on the South Bend Community School Corporation's agenda is a memo regarding school transportation.

On Thursday, Board President Roger Parent wrote a memo about the vacant director's position.

The letter lists several options for possible changes in the transportation department.

One of those options is bringing in an outside management company.

"What we're doing this evening is only to give some general direction to our superintendent. So there's been some discussion about hiring an outside management firm, not outsourcing, but rather hiring a management firm to run the transportation department. That's one option," said Parent.

Parent also said the transportation department receives many complaints and that their discussion will address those concerns.
