SOUTH BEND, Ind.- 13,000 students will return to the classroom across South Bend on Wednesday. ABC57’s Jackie Bauer sat down with Mr. Eid ahead of the big day.
It’ll be his 37th first day of school with South Bend Community Schools, but his very first leading it.
Eid began his career as a classroom aide, and over the years, has worked his way through nearly every role across the district.
Tuesday, he discussed goals, challenges, and changes ahead for this year.
The new leader says the year ahead will focus on strengthening graduation rates, improving both ILEARN and IREAD scores. And for him, it all starts with students getting to school safely and on time, which is why all parents must make sure they have submitted accurate bus information.
