A South Bend school bus driver has been suspended after his arrest by Chicago Police for allegedly responding to an online ad for sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl, according to police.
Mitchell Mace, 53, was arrested Friday after he was identified as the person who responded to an online ad about sexual relations with an unknown 14-year-old girl, police said.
Mace arrived to the 2500 block of E. 71st Street where he parked and got out of his vehicle, police said.
He was immediately taken into custody by Special Investigation Detectives and members of Organized Crime.
Mace is facing charges of traveling to meet a minor and indecent solicitation/aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The South Bend Community School Corporation confirmed Mace is a bus driver and that he was suspended immediately following his arrest.
