School put on lockdown after robbery outside the school

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A person visiting Muessel Primary Center on Blaine Avenue was robbed before entering the school Wednesday. The school was put on lockdown for a short time.

A teacher at the school said the visitor was a retired school teacher coming to the school to read to the children.

The school corporation sent a letter home to parents to let them know about the lockdown.

The letter states that no children were outside when the robbery happened and children were not in danger after the incident.
