Science Alive returns bringing in bubbling fun for all ages!
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Science Alive is back for a day of fun learning at the Saint Joseph County Public Library! Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, there will be over 40 exhibits covering all different types of science.
This event brought in over 3,000 people last year and the event targets mainly ages 1-12 but Daniel Lichty the Senior Communications Manager for the library tells ABC57's Sidney Moore that some of the exhibits throughout the library bring out people of all ages!
This is an opportunity to give students hands on learning experiences, in hopes of opening them up to a world of science, and straying away from the idea of science not being fun!
Lichty says, "I think sometimes people get turned off by Science at times, because it doesn't seem like it's that enjoyable. It's textbook heavy and things like that, but what we really want to be able to do is to showcase the hands-on nature of it. And so this gives us a chance to do that."
The event is free to the public and it is advised to get there early to land a parking spot downtown! There will be parking on the street, the parking garage, and there is a lot at the library but it fills up quick!
The event will conclude at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
