KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. - The semi driver accused of driving drunk and hitting a school bus full of students made his first appearance in court on Thursday.
Santos requested both a Spanish to English translator and a public defender.
His next court appearance is set for Monday, November 21.
The 58-year-old is facing four counts of causing serious bodily injury and 22 counts of criminal recklessness after 16 students and coaches were injured over the weekend when Santos allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Center Street, striking the bus full teens from St. Ignatius College Prep School in Chicago.
