Seventh grader faces charges after bringing a gun to school
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A seventh grader is facing charges on Friday night for taking a gun to a South Bend middle school!
Classmates say the kid brought the gun to Brown Intermediate on Beale Street. They say he showed it to another child in the bathroom. Administrators caught wind of it and called police.
A neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, told ABC 57 News that she saw all of the commotion!
"It seems to me, just one word, which is very sad. There's a child out there that doesn't have better guidance than that, or thinks it is okay. There's a piece missing there," she said.
Police say the weapon wasn’t loaded and had a clip missing.
The school was placed on lock down to make sure students were safe.
