UPDATE: Suspect identified in shooting at rest stop along I-94

UPDATE TWO: Ditchie is being held in jail on a $1 million bond.

Authorities say more criminal charges have been filed against Ditchie regarding another identified victim.

The report states a 37-year-old Cicero, Ill man was reported to have been the victim of a carjacking and assault.

This incident remains an open investigation.

UPDATE: The Berrien County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to ABC57 that Noah Ditchie is the man arrested in Monday night's shooting at the rest area along westbound I-94 in Watervliet Township.

Ditchie was taken into custody and taken to Berrien County Jail.

The prosecutor's office has formally charged Ditchie with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm.

ORIGINAL STORY: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office confirmed they are investigating a shooting that took place on Monday at approximately 7:12 p.m. at the rest area along westbound I-94 in Watervliet Township. 

A 34-year-old male was transported to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

The victim is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 26-year-old male from Kalamazoo was booked at the Berrien County Jail on Monday for shooting related charges.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Watervliet City Police Department, Coloma Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Medic One Ambulance.
