After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A shooting near Martin Luther King Recreational Center in South Bend left one woman injured Wednesday night, the South Bend Police Department reported.
At 8:26 p.m., police were called to the 1500 block of W. Linden Ave. in response to a female victim being shot on the basketball court.
When patrol units arrived on scene, they found the female who appeared to be in her 20's. She was taken to a nearby hospital and while the extent of her injuries is unknown investigators say they are serious.
There are not yet any known suspects in this shooting.
Investigators urge anyone with any information about this shooting to contact either the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit at 235-5009 or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
