Lake effect snow continues into tonight and Friday. Heavy lake effect snow bands will make for difficult travel at times because of blowing/drifting snow, low visibility and slippery roads. LaPorte, Berrien , Cass and St. Joseph counties may receive around 4-12” more inches. Yes, that is a large span, but it all depends on the exact placement of lake effect snow bands.
A Wind chill advisory is in effect tonight 9PM through 11AM Friday morning. Wind chill values will be between -10 and -20 degrees. Frostbite will be possible within 30 minutes.
Snow will come to an end for most of Michiana by Saturday morning, but Berrien and Cass counties can still count on lake effect snow through Saturday evening. A new system brings even more snow to all of Michiana on Sunday.
Tonight: Lake effect snow showers, low of 4, wind chill down to -20.
Friday: Lake effect snow showers, high of 12.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with snow showers in Berrien and Cass Co., high of 16.
