Software allows for tracking of school buses

BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Keeping kids safe with a click of a mouse.

A new system from Carmel-based Synovia Software has released a new vehicle tracking system.

It is being used by the Brownsburg School District for its buses to watch gas mileage, location and even speed.

The system is also expected to ensure they are not skipping stops for kids and follows traffic safety rules.

"When the doors open and close, did they do the appropriate stop at a railroad crossing, did they put the amber lights on and put the stop arm out," said CEO Jon King.

It is not just for school buses, the same software is being used by several police departments to track their cars and keep their officers accountable.
