South Bend Fire Department puts out two structure fires Tuesday morning
South Bend Fire Department SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department responded to two structure fires Tuesday morning.
Just after 7:15 a.m., SBFD was dispatched to the 1100 block of North Olive Street for a vehicle fire. When they arrived, they found an RV fire, upgrading the call to a residential response.
They were able to get the fire under control in around 10 minutes, preventing the flames from extending into a nearby home. No injuries were reported.
Just after 9 a.m., SBFD was dispatched to the intersection of Fox Street and St. Joseph Street for another structure fire. This time, in the 200 block of Fox Street, the firefighters discovered a vacant house and shed on fire.
Fire was showing on the outside of the house, but it was extinguished before it could extend inside.
The building had already been boarded up previously due to a prior fire a few years ago. There were no injuries.
SBFD is continuing to investigate both fires.
