Pixabay SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced the leaf pickup program will resume on Wednesday.
Leaf pickup had been suspended earlier in the month due to heavy snow and freezing temperatures.
City officials say the warmer weather and melting snow is allowing crews to restart operations, although the program may be suspended again if inclement weather returns.
Restarting with Zone 7, crews are set to collect leaves street by street and complete one zone before moving to the next, officials say.
City guidelines for residents:
- Leaves should be raked to the tree lawn area, not in the street, by 6 a.m. on scheduled pickup date
- Leaves must be free of sticks, trash, and other debris
- Vehicles should not be parked on or in front of leaf piles along the curb
You can find out what zone you're in by checking the map on the city's website.
