South Bend man receives 55-year sentence for killing roommate

SOUTH BEND, Ind.--A South Bend man is headed to prison for killing his roommate.
Today a judge sentenced 32-year-old Elex Baltazar to 55 years behind bars. A jury found him guilty of murdering Miguel Rivera back in September.
Police say Baltazar had beaten Rivera to death with a baseball bat. His body was found floating in the St. Joseph River in May 2010.
