Goshen City Council amends DORA rules amid community concerns
SOUTH BEND, Ind. --Nine new police officers join the effort to keep South Bend safe, as the department officially swears all nine officers in during a special meeting of the board of public safety.
Officer Caleb waits to join his brother Travis, since Travis got his badge a few months after Caleb was sworn in, as Caleb waits sharing the best part for him, about being an officer.
"The look of the kids' faces you know even my son when I come home every day you know he sees the uniform and he's so excited to see me."
The department currently has 212 officers on duty, which is short of its goal of having 240 officers patrolling the streets.
