SOUTH BEND, Ind. --South Bend police say they are investigating a video circulating on social media that shows an officer detaining what appears to be a juvenile outside a McDonald’s on North Main Street.
The video, shared Friday by Black Lives Matter South Bend, shows the officer restraining the individual between the sidewalk and the road. ABC57 News has blurred the person’s face because they are believed to be a minor.
It remains unclear why police were attempting to detain the individual.
In a statement, South Bend police said they are gathering facts, evidence, and video related to the incident, including body camera footage from the officer involved. The department said it plans to release additional details about what led up to the incident.
