Notre Dame not overlooking their 1-8 opponent in primetime matchup
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Police responded to a report that a 9-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon.
When police arrived to the 700 block of Lincoln Way East before 4:30 p.m. they learned the injury occurred on S. Carroll street.
The police were called once the boy went to Lincoln Way East, a gas station.
The boy was shot in the finger. It is non life-threatening, according to officials.
Detectives have deemed this incident as accidental.
