South Bend Schools transition town hall meetings to listening tour

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Community School Corporation announced it will continue town hall meetings with a renewed emphasis on gathering essential community feedback for improving student retention and increasing enrollment.
District officials say this comes after the recent decision not to proceed with "Plan C," as announced by school board member Mark Costello.
Officials say the ongoing town halls will now function as a listening tour.
This means providing a platform for community members to express their questions, concerns, and ideas on how to enhance the educational experience for district students and families.
The meetings will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
“The input from our community is vital to our mission of supporting our students,” said SBCSC Superintendent Mansour Eid. “By listening to your concerns and suggestions, we can work collaboratively to strengthen our schools and ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.”
