SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- With National Arbor Day just around the corner, the South Bend Venues Parks & Arts are putting together a special celebration today at Pinhook Park at 9 a.m. rain or shine!
There will be ten organizations informing the community about the importance of environmental topics.
And, a free native Indiana tree gives away to the first 50 arrivals!
The South Bend Venues Parks & Arts will also be announcing the new educational trail about native Indiana trees.
They have installed a QR code aspect at certain locations in front of native trees describing what tree it is and the importance of each species.
The goal is to have a total of 100 native trees planted in the park but they do need help from the public to do so.
