South Shore Line offers free rides to medical personnel, law enforcement, firefighters Sept. 6-11

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line announced it will offer free rides to all doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, and other medical personnel to ride the train free of charge Sept. 6-11.
South Shore officials say this is to thank them for their service to the community.
The free rides include all westbound and eastbound weekday and weekend trains.
To ride free, those who qualify must present a valid work ID to SSL train personnel that shows they are employed at a hospital, doctor’s office, medical facility, fire department, police station, prison, or related agency.
Law enforcement encompasses police officers, correctional officers, TSA agents, and other security personnel.
Throughout the year, the SSL welcomes various groups to take advantage of free transportation on designated days.
